Skateistan

For those of you who know me, you know that i love to skateboard. It has been a favorite pastime of mine ever since my dad bought me my first skateboard when I was 7 years old. Skateboarding takes skill. It also requires the 3 P's: Practice, Patience, and Precision. A dream of mine would be to travel around the world and promote skateboarding in a positive way. While i was surfing the web i came across a site called www.skateboardworks.com and saw this video from CNN about a new program in Afghanistan called Skateistan. It’s founded by Australian Oliver Percovich. He’s trying to create a positive environment for kids to learn how to skateboard and to teach them skills that could possibly keep them from being a terrorist or involved in the drug trade. They’ll be getting a new, larger facility later in the year, and will start offering English and computer classes. That’s pretty cool. It's crazy how a useless wooden toy can have such an impact for good! Check it out!

A Gem From '93

Dude looks like a lady! an iconic song made famous by Arrowsmith brings back those oh so wonderful childhood memories of watching Mrs. Doubtfire. Probably one of the greatest feelings is watching those movies you used to watch as a kid, but you are 15 years older and actually understand it. Now you remember that the movie was funny, but when you watch it after having experienced those teenage years and now passing through your 20's the movie is now REALLY funny-even funnier than you remember. Probably my favorite part is when Mrs. Doubtfire put the pie in her, or his, face and yells HELLOOO!! Heres some clips from the movie!!

Bad APPle

Now a days there are tons of apps for facebook and myspace and everything in between. But i must say there is one that causes a lot of contention, and no, i'm not talking about mafia wars. It's the Top Friends app. It's a great way to let your most loyal and trustworthy friends know that you care about them. But what happens if you are on someone's top friends list and they demote you or take you off completely? Now everything you've ever done to that person is running in circles through your head like a dog chasing its tail as you frantically try to think of the moment that made your demoter so mad that they replaced you on their top friends list. Could it be because you forgot to give back their favorite pen that you borrowed? what else could it be? Then the next time you see them it's totally awkward!!!
Or how about this. you and your boyfriend/girlfriend get into a little argument and are giving each other the silent treatment. Then you get on facebook to stalk their profile and you find out you're no longer one of their top friends. That's when you know it's really over!
So as you can see the Top Friends app was really created just to cause contentions; kinda like Jerry Springer. So folks, stay true to your friends!! I quote John Lennon when i say, "I get by with a little help from my friends." The Top Friends list is a bad APPle.

Jonas and Cyrus

No I'm not talking about Miley and Nick! I'm talking about Bonus Jonas (Frankie) and Sidekick Cyrus(Noah). The two youngsters went on a date to the movie Monster’s vs. Aliens where they shared popcorn and held hands (how cute!).

The JoBros security guard Big Rob sat a couple rows behind the two to make sure that nobody bothered them during the film. After the movie the two were picked up by Noah’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, and got home in time for their 9 PM curfew!

Everyday is a new day. I wake up each mornin' and put my pants on one leg at a time jus like er'one else. I take a shower, brush my teeth, and put on a smile, walk a quarter mile and face the adventures of a new day.
